"You don't take a photograph, you make it"

- Ansel Adams

Meet Jodie

I'd like to start by saying, I'm not great with the written word, however, I'm great with visual communication! Please forgive my terrible writing.

Born and raised in "gods country", Yorkshire. I have grown up on farm and pony stud, I'm not afraid of hard work and a challenge. Which is why I am passionate about what I do. Every photography job I take on challenges my creativity, and I love the variety of life that been a photographer brings, one day I can be in the studio taking a portrait, the next out and about taking photographs for a business website.

My Photography Journey

I can't really explain where my love of photography has come from, I can remember the first time I was given a disposable camera while on holiday, when I was 5 years old. I still have some of the prints from it. For some reason I have always treasured photographs. I was 15 when I decided this is what I wanted to do for a living. During my GCSE year I started a campaign to get my school to run an A-Level specifically for photography. I was unsuccessful and went on to study Art & Design, but photography was always a part of that, I worked it into every project I could. At the age of 20 I decided I wanted to study photography specifically. Unfortunately, I was too old to join a National Diploma in Photography, and too young to join a Degree course as a mature student. Thankfully, the tutors of the latter agreed to meet with me, and after an interview, put a special case forward to the University of Hull and I was allowed to enrol on the course, as long as I promised not to let them down. 3 Years later I graduated top of my class with a First with Honors in Visual Communication (majoring in photography), and the rest is history!

“Never work with children and animals” – Well, these just so happen to be my favourite subjects to photograph!

However, as previously mentioned, the thing I love most about my business is variety. I enjoy every type of photo shoot, I enjoy the social aspect of working with and photographing people, but also feel completely at peace when left alone to photograph a product or landscape for commercial work.   I take on all manors of work. The list is endless! Please see my portfolio for examples.
